Dave Erickson
Hometown: Findlay, OH
Hailing from British Columbia, Canada, Dave was born with hockey in his blood. Like much of the players on the Grrrowl, he began playing junior hockey when he was 18 with the Olds Grizzly’s Junior-A team in Alberta, where he played for three seasons. Dave was twice named the league’s Best Defenseman and was the 2000-01 recipient of W.G. Scott Memorial Trophy as the league’s Top Defenseman. He was also named to the league’s All-Star squad and received All-League honors in his final two years with the Grizzlys. Following his stint with junior hockey, Dave received a scholarship to play hockey for the University of Findlay, where in three seasons and 92 games, he recorded four goals and 14 assists. Since his tenure at UF, which was cut short by the hockey program being disbanded in 2004, Dave has kept ties and remained involved with the hockey community in Findlay. In the past few years he has been involved in coaching and teaching the game to young hockey hopefuls with the Findlay Amateur Hockey Association (FAHA) and the Toledo Cherokee Hockey Club, where he has proven not only to develop, but challenge young players at each stage in their hockey lives.
