Recap:

For the second consecutive day the Findlay Grrrowl let the lead slip from its grasp, resulting in its second tie in as many games and a 4-4 final score at the Cube Sunday.

With the Grrrowl preserving a late one-goal lead with under a minute to play, Penn’s Kyle Ralston slapped one past Findlay’s Chad Karns to tie the score at four with just 19 seconds remaining, virtually sealing the fate of the series as a stalemate.

Down 2-0 early in the second period, the Grrrowl answered back with three goals, giving the team its first lead. Despite the sudden shift in momentum, the Enforcers were able to answer back and tie the game with 43 seconds left in the period, wiping the slate clean for an even third period.

New arrival John Logothetis put the Grrrowl ahead in the third with six minutes to play. Sound defense by the Grrrowl allowed them to preserve their lead until the late Ralston score spoiled the would-be win.

The Enforcers spoiled a late third-period Grrrowl lead on Saturday as Penn’s Ben Terhaar scored the game-tying goal with 1:44 remaining.

Typically the turning point in the game, the third period remains a problem for the Grrrowl who have proven to perform at their best when trailing however struggles to close out games when clinging onto a slim lead or tie late in the game.

Brock Donnelly had two scores along with an assist and Mike Lezotte and Chris Clark each had a goal and two assists in the series.
