Recap:

The Findlay Grrrowl returned home Sunday following a weekend split with the Harrington College Icebergs in Quebec, Canada. 

In its second consecutive 2-game split on the road, the Grrrowl rallied from behind to beat the Icebergs 6-5 in overtime in the opening match before falling 8-1 in Game 2 on Sunday. 

Center Brock Donnelly’s game-winning score in OT sealed the Game 1 victory for the Grrrowl before the team’s shaky loss Sunday, which pulled the Grrrowl’s record to even once again at 2-2. 

In Game 1 the Grrrowl found itself trailing late in the second period before a sudden 2-goal surge that sent the game into second intermission tied at 4. Both teams tacked on one more in the third period to send the game to overtime. 

Grrrowl defenseman Michael Lezotte and wingman Zach Bachnak played key roles in the game, each scoring one goal and adding an assist. 

Jordan Rees recorded the team’s lone goal in Game 2, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the avenging Icebergs who sent the Grrrowl packing quickly. 

The Grrrowl continues with its road schedule this weekend as it faces off with the Jamestown Jets, who are 4-2 and 4-0 at home.
